PMGDISHA: Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyaan

The Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (PMGDISHA) is a project designed to make rural people digitally literate. The government accepted the proposal in February 2017. The Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyaan (PMGDISHA) is a Digital Literacy Scheme implemented by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to ensure that six crore people in rural regions across States/UTs are digitally literate, with the goal of reaching approximately 40% of rural families by covering one member from each eligible family.

The Scheme is applicable only to rural regions of the US. Only one individual (14 – 60 years of age) per eligible household would be taken into consideration for training. Preference could take delivery of to SC, ST, BPL, ladies, in a different way-abled individuals, and minorities.

Who is eligible for PMGDISHA?

A unique username and password will be supplied to the beneficiary.

Offline Application Process: PMGDISHA

Beneficiary identification can be completed through CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, a Special Purpose Vehicle (CSC-SPV) established under the Companies Act 1956, in close coordination with DeGS, Gram Panchayats, and Block Development Officers. The list of such recipients could be made available on the scheme portal.

Exclusions : PMGDISHA

  • The panchayats which can be a part of urban agglomerations shall be excluded from the Scheme.
